At present, the Algarve has roughly 30 courses, all benefit from the perfect conditions for playing golf all year round. Another feature common to all the courses is the beauty of their natural landscape, enhanced by the intelligence of their design.

 

Algarve’s golf courses have begun to host more and more international tournaments, whilst remaining a genuine paradise for all golf lovers. The Algarve’s golf courses have a wide range of different settings and difficulties, making it possible for professionals, amateurs and even the mildly curious to find one that is suited to their playing level.

 

Albufeira - Set on the cliff-tops amidst beautiful pine-woods, the courses here are relatively flat and afford stunning views over the beaches below.

 

Barlavento (West Algarve) - The courses here afford some of the most interesting views in the Algarve, with the sea and the hills of the Serra de Monchique as their backdrop.

 

Sotavento (East Algarve) - Most of this region’s courses are surrounded by extensive pine-woods and afford magnificent views over the distant hills, the sea, the Ria Formosa Natural Park and the River Guadiana.

 

 

 

 

 

Lisbon is one European capital that benefits from one of the greatest assets available to the modern city: its streets may be safely enjoyed after nightfall.  As the heat of the day mellows with the setting sun, the gentler temperature entices people out into the streets.

The streets of Lisbon are not keen on sleeping or resting. The restaurants, ‘cervejarias’ or beer gardens, bars, café esplanades and discos are all geared for partying. Some can be found tucked away in leafy gardens, as is the case with the Príncipe Real and Jardim da Estrela esplanades. Others open up onto the hills of Lisbon, such as the café-viewpoints of Santa Luzia, Santa Catarina and Graça.

 

To the east and to the west, there are esplanades turning their back on the city to look out over the water, taking in the silvery light show provided by the city’s reflection out on the waters. There is all kinds of choice on offer at the Santo Amaro Docks at one end to the more recent Parque das Nações recreational complex at the other.

A meeting point for all ages, cosmopolitan by their very nature, this is where friends meet up to plan their nights out. As the hour advances, they gradually move out to the cities many bars and discos.
